We Don't Rebel to Sell, It Just Suits Us Well
Hey all. How's it hanging? Limp? Hmmm, you should get that taken care of. Anyways yesterday was Ozzfest. I guess I'll go in chronological order.
At 5:15 I woke up (got about 2 hours of sleep). I got ready to go. Then I left my house at 6:15. I walked so fast to the bus stop and just caught the bus. Finally I got to Harlem and Irving. I don't trust the Harlem bus so I started walking. Then I got to Yanina's before 7. David's mom picked us up at about 7:20. Then we were on our way. We were on the expressway and about to hit 95th street we were almost there, when suddenly David noticed that he FORGOT THE TICKETS. So we turned back around. It was already 8:15 and we were supposed to meet Scott (who had my ticket) there at 8:40. I was afraid that he would leave. So I tried to call his house but it was too late. So finally we got to the Tweeter Center at 9:30. We found Scott, and all was good. We missed Motograter. Yargh! Then we watched many bands on the second stage. Malissa was there too. She was with us some of the time. Some of the bands were ok. I enjoyed Grade 8, Nothingface, Shadow's Fall, and Sworn Enemy. Oh my shit, Voivod sucked! It seemed like their performance lasted forever. They're only somewhat popular because Jason Newstead (ex-bassist of Metallica) is in the band. Finally, Cradle of Filth came on. They were so awesome, but their set was short, prolly becuase stupid Voivod. And what the hell is a Voivod anyways?! Dani Filth was awesome and had a crazy voice. Then it was time to go to the main stage. Scott and his cousin already left when Voivod came on. Me, David, and Yanina, went to get water and "food". Then we sat on the lawn. The Crapsons or whatever were already playing. Then Chevelle played and no one cared. I tried looking for Scott a few times but couldn't find him. There were so many damn people! Then we were still walking around. And Disturbed was supposed to play next. Then I heard the intro on Golden Age of Grotesque. And I was like that sounds like Marilyn Manson! Then they started playing. I was like ah shit! So I went back on the lawn really quick. And the spot where were were sucked, there was a pole in my way. I moved a bit so I could see the stage. But I was still so far away. I was singing along to all the songs and stuff. They sounded so good. I was a bit dissapointed that they didn't play anything off of "Portrait of an American Family" (1st CD). And only one song off of "AntiChrist Superstar". They always play "Lunchbox", "Antichrist Superstar", "Irresponsible Hate Anthem" and "Astonishing Panorama of Endtimes". I thought they were gonna play "Irresponsible Hate Anthem" for sure. But they did play "This is the New Shit", "mObscene", "Doll Dagga Buzz Buzz Ziggity Zag", "Golden Age of Grotesque", "Rock is Dead", "The Fight Song", "Disposable Teens", "The Beautiful People", and "Sweet Dreams are made of this". Their set was short, but sweet. I'm definately going to see Manson when he tours again. Then Disturbed came on and me and Yanina sat there. And then Korn came on. They were kick ass. They played all these really good songs. I still knew all the words to their songs even though I don't listen to them as much as I used to. Then we left cuz we didn't really wanna see Ozzy. As we were leaving we found Scott again. We stood around for a few minutes and then we found David's mom. I was so tired and sunburned. I am sad to report I am no longer pasty all over :(. Oh well. My feet still kinda hurt too. And I think that's about it. Hmm....I wonder if this post was longer than my Full Metal Humboldt Park post. All in all, it was a good day.
Today I did nothing. I was about to go to Yanina's, but my toe hurt. I'm pretty sure it's infected. Well....hopefully it'll go away soon. Tomorrow I'm stuck watching the biatch. It's my parent's anniversary. Damn biatch, he's so biatchy. Oh well. Goodnight, my beautiful people...
